Gaggia Anima vs Saeco Incanto are the two brand’s popular espresso makers that run under the Philips electronic corporation. Applying many great features such as automated dosing, grinding system, or One Touch Cappuccino function, these two coffee makers are the best suit for whoever wants to save time but can still taste the fresh coffee.
After looking for further information on both devices, I discovered that the Saeco Incanto is better than its counterpart. The table below will briefly explain my point of view. Let’s dive in.

Differences Between Gaggia Anima vs Saeco Incanto
Design & Convenience
Generally speaking, Saeco Incanto vs Gaggia Anima’s design is somewhat similar. They are not 100% identical, but the outlook and the arrangement of the control panel are the same styles.
The first thing that captures my attention is the glossy dispensing spout in the middle and the display screen on top. Without showing off too many buttons, the two machines still give a modern vibe to users who are seeking smart gadgets for their house corners.
In terms of similarities, they have a removable drip tray, thermoplastic outer body, stainless steel boiler, Panarello, and numbers of buttons. While the 6 buttons in the Gaggia Anima have only 2 preset drinks, the Saeco Incanto offers up to 4 options out of 6.
Both machines’ dimensions are quite reasonable and do not take much space in users’ kitchen corners. For example, the height of Gaggia Anima and Saeco Incanto is 13.3 and 12.9 inches, respectively. Their depth and width are only 2-3 inches different, which proves why these two models are often put together for comparison.
The Anima also tips the scale of 16.5 pounds while its competitor is only 15.8 pounds. Overall, the construction and appearance of both machines are the same. Yet, the Saeco Incanto has the advantage over Gaggia espresso makers for owning both carafe and milk frother.
That’s the reason why I’ll give a point for the Saeco Incanto superior espresso machine in this round.
Wattages and Capacity
If you have read my other article, you’ll discover that I haven’t reviewed any coffee makers with more wattages than 1600. Well, lucky you! Our models are the two exceptional robust engines that ask for at least 1800 watts as power consumption brewing.
Normally, you can brew a delicious cup of coffee in about 5 minutes with 1500 watts. But with 1800 watts, the water stored in both machines will be boiled in less than 4 minutes, enabling users to prepare a larger batch at a faster rate.
Another factor that is also affected by the wattage is the grinding. By applying the professional built-in grinder made of 100% ceramic, your delicious espresso cup will retain its natural taste. This long-life ceramic grinder with robust wattages creates the ideal grind and heat, which even prevents the coffee from tasting burnt and over-heating.
The capacity of the water tank and beans hopper for the two machines are also similar. They both hold a 1.8-liter water reservoir and 250 grams beans container capacity.
So you can brew up to 10-12 cups of coffee until the beans run out, and 1.8 liters of water can be only compatible with approximately 7 cups. If you’re a coffee lover who loves to intake lots of coffee per day, these two automatic machines might not be very suitable since they require frequent refills.
In the end, it’s a tie for this round.
Additional Features and Accessories
The only additional feature and accessory the Saeco Incanto espresso machine has and Gaggia Anima doesn’t have is the milk carafe. Saeco’s integrated milk carafe can automatically froth the milk to your coffee, allowing users to enjoy more complicated drinks.
When you want to make some traditional foam milk beverages such as cappuccinos, lattes, or macchiatos, simply remove the carafe on the left corner and attach the milk frother. By doing so, you won’t have to stand next to the espresso machine while it’s brewing coffee since all the processes are done automatically.
However, the milk container is not available in the Gaggia Anima model. If you want to make a drink with a foam layer on the top, you’ll need to supervise the machine for the whole process. When the coffee has completely poured out from the central spout, your cup of coffee must be removed from the espresso spout and put under the milk frothing wand.
Both have a milk frother that will satisfy any keen tastebud, but this feature is a matter of saving time and effort. If you have more free time and enjoy the process of brewing a cup of coffee, then the milk carafe seems not much of a big deal for you.
