Design and Convenience
The HP01 and HP04 both belong to the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool series, which is known to offer three functions, including heat, cool, and purify. They come in the same tower designs that give a futuristic and aesthetically pleasing vibe. Undoubtedly, these Dyson fan purifiers are a great addition to your modern home. Note that the HP04 is a bit bigger and heavier compared to its successor.
Filtration System
Despite coming from the same series, the two models are equipped with different filters. While the HP01 uses a combination of 360 glass HEPA and Activated Carbon filters, its competitor works with a large HEPA filter and a separate Activated Carbon filter.
Guess which one works better?
The answer is the HP04. Its filters are upgraded, thereby dealing with air pollutants more effectively.
Coverage Area
Both products offer the same coverage area – about 400 sq ft for cooling, heating, and purification. Nonetheless, there are huge differences when it comes to the oscillation range. The HP01 can swing around 70 degrees, while the HP04 is capable of oscillating up to 350 degrees, allowing it to circulate air in the entire room.
Features and Accessories
There is no denying that the HP04 is more feature-rich than its predecessor.
First stop is the display. The Dyson HP04 model shows you real-time air quality and the kinds of pollutants present, while the 01 only displays the temp together with some basic controls. More excitingly, the HP04 can report the humidity in the room.
Regarding the mode, both purifiers have the Jet Focused Control and Diffused Mode, coupled with the Night Mode in which the machine runs more quietly. But the HP04 once again shows its superiority with the Backward Mode. In this mode, you are able to use the purifier without turning on the fan or the heater.
The best thing about HP04 is probably its Wifi connectivity, which makes it compatible with Alexa and Dyson Link app. While Alexa allows you to control the machine by voice command, the Dyson application offers much more than that. Using the app, you can quickly check the air quality within your room as well as schedule the heating, cooling, and purifying time. More notably, the app lets you operate the HP04 even if you are not home.
Last but not least, the Dyson HP04 offers an extended warranty for 24 months. If you buy the HP01 instead, you will be covered for only 12 months.
Of course, that is not to say the HP01 delivers a poor performance. In contrast, it is a pretty decent option for the price, with many great features such as auto working mode, 10 air speed settings, sleep timing, and auto shut-off if tipped over. It is somehow basic, but it gets the job done efficiently without breaking your bank.
Anyway, when it comes to features and accessories, the HP04 deserves the win between Dyson HP01 Vs HP04.
