Differences Between Miele Jura D6 vs A1

Design & Convenience

Let’s not doubt the stylish eyes of Jura designers by listing all the colors, arrangements, and materials that both machines are made of. They are both very sleek and can fit into different interior designs. However, Jura A1 vs D6 has many contrast factors in design, such as the dimensions, weights, control panel, and even the operation.

When talking about the outer appearance of both models, I prefer the Jura A1 more for its simple construction and minimalistic spout. Besides, it has the smallest size for a super-automatic coffee machine in the market at 9 x 12.7 x 17.5 inches.

The D6, on the other hand, has a standard coffee machine size with a double-serve function. But from the ability to brew two cups of coffee simultaneously, the machine is more suitable for medium to large crowds.

Besides, D6 can do milk-based drinks like latte or cappuccino due to the built-in milk froth located next to the main spout. In my opinion, the one disadvantage of the D6 model is the plain text display.

While the A1 is applicable with a touch control panel, the D6 gadget’s owner can only control and choose the drink options by rotating the knobs. It requires some specific time to fully get an understandable grasp at operating this machine.

Due to this point, I will have my vote for the Jura A1. It’s compact, compatible with touch screens, and has been on the top bestseller of Jura for years.

Wattages and Capacity

Even though the A1 model weighs 1.6-pounds more than the D6 gadget, the water reservoir of D6 still exceeds the capacity of its competitor. The bean hopper capacity of both machines is also different. With a bigger size, the D6 has up to 7.1-ounces while its counterpart is only 4.4 ounces.

We can see how compact sizes have both good and bad points. It takes up less space in the kitchen corner but also reduces the ingredients and energy pretty fast. You might want to purchase the A1 machine if your caffeinated intake per day is less than 2 cups.

Having the same number of specialty and power of 1450 watts, the D6 gadget still gained more favor from customers due to its versatility in making coffee and excellent milk foam texture. The A1 without any milk frother is limited to brew coffee drinks only.

Do not hesitate to go for the D6 if you ask for a compact machine to make milk-based drinks and save energy. One point for theD6 gadget!

Additional Features

Remember the complaint I have above for the Jura D6? Yes, that’s right! It’s about the complicated operation when brewing drinks from the dial and knob. Luckily, the D6 is connected to the Smart Connect app made by Jura, allowing users to remotely demand their coffee machines for brewing coffee.

This Smart connect feature is not applicable with the Jura A1 model since the manufacturer is limiting all the whistles and bells for a home-use gadget.

On the other hand, Jura A1 also has an advantage in saving energy and time. For those who have absent minds that often forget what they’re doing in the kitchen, A1 is equipped with an automatic on/off function. It can shut off or enter the saving mode when the machine is left unattended for 10 minutes.

The saving energy feature sounds very attractive to me, but I would prefer the D6 for the double spout and convenient remote operation.
