Differences Between Jura Giga 5 vs W3
Design & Convenience
There seems to be no difference between the Jura Giga W3 vs 5 since they both come from the Giga line. The control panel, number of spouts, position of milk frother, and their quality of drip tray are all the same.
However, they do differ in weights and dimensions. While the Giga W3 is 40.3 pounds, its competitor weighs 0.5 pounds less. The size of Giga 5 is also smaller than the W3, which is 12.6 inches in depth, 16.3 in height, and 18.9 inches in width.
But if you ask me which one I prefer, I would choose the Jura Giga W3. With the same design and construction, the big dimensions of W3 offer more advantages to brew coffee.
It comes with a larger water tank and bean hopper. The Giga 5 has two bean hoppers to extend the duration of refilling coffee; thus, preserving the aroma for a better taste. But when it comes to Giga W3, it offers a much larger bean and water container.
The large coffee bean hopper adds up to the height, making it 21.7 inches tall. And I have to admit that it looks quite professional. The water reservoir stays on the left side of the machine, representing the same construction as the Jura Z8 or Ena 8 models.
And you might already know, but these are my favorite coffee machines in terms of design.
Wattages and Capacity
Surprisingly, for such a big machine like Jura Giga W3 vs 5, their engines fall behind other Jura models. Both gadgets come with a 1250-watt engine only. Obviously, these numbers are not weak, but considering all the marketplace options nowadays, 1250 watts are quite minor.
I understand what you’re thinking in your head. “A low-watt machine will brew coffee much slower.” True! Partly! The duration of brewing coffee depends on other factors as well, such as the Thermoblock heating system, the amount of waste stuck inside the machine, etc.
Trust me; the Jura Giga line will never fail you in brewing a splendid cup of coffee. You can brew up to 10 cups a day, and the number will increase if you use the Jura Giga W3!
As for capacity, I will send a winning ticket to Giga W3 right away. You won’t imagine how gigantic its coffee bean container and water tank are! They are up to 36 ounces and 176 ounces, respectively! What about the Giga 5? It’s limited to 19.76 ounces (for double coffee bean containers) and 91.5 ounces for the water tank.
Even the coffee ground waste capacity of W3 is twice larger than its counterpart. The Giga 5 can store up to 2Considering0 servings, which is already impressive for a Jura coffee machine.
It’s undoubtedly that both devices offer huge capacities that are perfect for all kinds of brewing purposes. However, the Giga W3 just happens to be a better choice for making larger coffee batches.
Additional Features
Taking about the additional features, we can’t miss the ability to brew coffee based on the programmable presets. And again, the Giga W3 has such an amazing number of specialties up to 43. I know, right?! This number sounds insane!
But watch out since not everyone can understand the operation of a machine or how to utilize it. Don’t just purchase it if you are never going to brew full 43 types of drinks.
On the other hand, the Giga 5 has only 12 options.
Another great feature is the Save Energy Consumption. This mode is compatible with both products, and you won’t have to worry about the electrical expense. The machine will automatically shut the engine off after leaving it unused for about 10 minutes.

Conclusion
Between the Jura Giga 5 vs W3, the Giga W3 mode is understandable and impressive. It deserves to be the winner in this battle, and I would choose to own such a machine myself.
However, I recognize that not all coffee lovers can operate on this machine. It has too many presets; thus, cleaning and maintenance demands will also be very tough. But worry not; the Giga 5, a simpler version of W3, will serve you just right!
