Jura We6 Vs E6 Detailed Comparison: Which One To Buy?

Jura WE6 Vs E6

Quick Answer: Jura WE6 Vs E6

Which Is The Best Overall?

In the matchup of Jura E6 vs WE6, I find the WE6 a more appealing option overall.  It boasts a spacious water tank and bean hopper, so you won’t find yourself refilling very often. This advantage makes the model especially suited for heavy coffee consumers, large households, and small office settings.

Also, its milk steam wand does an amazing job of frothing rich, creamy foam to better the taste of your milk-based drinks. That said, with these advantages, Jura WE6 comes with a high price to match.

If you’re tight on a budget and do not mind frequent refillings, you can opt for E6, which offers the same brewing performance as its brother.

Differences Between Jura WE6 Vs E6

Design And Convenience

The winner: Jura WE6

While the WE6 coffee machine has a slightly smaller footprint (9.1 x 9.1 x 9.1 inches), it is nearly 9 pounds heavier than the other. But the construction is pretty much the same, as you can easily spot the water tank on the side and a bean hopper on the top for easier access on either machine.

The main difference is the color of the housing. WE6 is an all-black design, while the E6 is accentuated by the two sides of the elegant platinum. Whatever you choose, either of these Jura coffee makers will make a statement in your space.

Both the two Jura models use the same advanced technologies that Jura has been renowned for to facilitate optimal coffee brewing. Specifically, they feature a multi-level AromaG3 grinder to optimally grind the beans while preserving the scent.

Also, both are integrated with P.E.P technology which forces the hot water through coffee in short bursts for the best extraction. These features are real strong points of any Jura machine, and I love that Jura does not skim it on their cheaper models, such as the E6 or D6 (see Jura D6 Vs E6 comparison for more information).

The double-shot brewing can save time, but I find that the single-shot brews always produce fuller-bodied, more flavorful coffee in both models.

You can customize the 3 coffee strengths and 2 brewing temperatures in both machines.

However, the E6 offers 7 coffee specialties (with one or two shots for coffee and espresso), whereas the WE6 allows you to brew 8 specialties (with one or two shots for ristretto, coffee, and espresso).

For this reason, the WE6 is our obvious winner as it offers a wider range of specialties and more convenience for brewing with two shots simultaneously. That’s why this machine is geared towards office use, as it can cater to more coffee drinking preferences and needs.

Wattage And Capacity

The winner: Jura WE6

The WE6 boasts a greater water tank capacity which can hold up to 101 oz. It means that there’ll be fewer refillings, making it more ideal for heavy usage. In addition, the WE-line product has an edge over bean and ground holding capacities.

It can accommodate up to 17.7 oz of beans and 25 servings of ground, whereas the E6 bean and ground containers are limited to 9.9 oz and 16 servings, respectively.

Extra Features

The winner: Jura WE6

Since the two models come from the same brand, it comes as no surprise that they share many similar features. For instance, both have a TFT color display screen which is easy to navigate for a hassle-free coffee-making experience.

Still, there is an aspect that helps to tell the two coffee machines apart. The WE6 steam wand produces richer and thicker milk foam than its predecessor for enhanced flavors of cappuccino and espresso. Hence, for those fancy milk-based drinks, the WE6 model effortlessly wins their hearts.
