We all know that Jura X8 has beat many well-known models in the Jura family due to its big water reservoir capacity and bundle of convenient presets. Will this result continue to happen in the next battle of Jura X8 vs WE8?
The WE8, which is considered an updated version of a tough opponent of Jura X8 – E8, has many advantages. However, it’s not enough to surpass the robust and versatile X8 coffee maker. Here is my explanation.
Differences Between Jura X8 vs WE8
Design & Convenience
Since WE8 is just an upgraded version of Jura E8, comparing these two machines is not different from the comparison between the Jura X8 vs E8. However, we have a different number of technical data, namely the dimensions and weights.
Unlike the built-in coffee hopper of X8, the WE8 model with a protrude coffee hopper has added up to its height, making it 16.4 inches. However, the height of X8 is still 2.1 inches taller than its counterpart. This is due to the large drip tray.
The other dimensions of WE8 are also smaller than the X8, which is 3.1 inches in depth and 0.7 inches in width less. But they are not the most distinguishing factor between Jura WE8 vs E8. While the E8 is quite portable with 22 pounds, its competitor tips the scale of 31 pounds.
Both gadgets are not the types of coffee machines that can fit perfectly in every home’s kitchen corner. They need a spacious room to operate, especially for the X8 gadget. Therefore, I recommend double check your kitchen dimensions before purchasing any of these two.
And since I chose E8 as the winner in my previous review, I will continue to choose its upgraded version – WE8 as a winner. It’s compact and has a large screen display with small buttons.
Wattages and Capacity
Yes, this time we still have a 1450-watt engine for both machines. I’m quite glad that the Swiss quality never disappoints me at manufacturing a powerful engine to brew and grind coffee beans.
Personally, I will not use any superautomatic coffee makers that have wattages less than 1200 units (sometimes 1300). I consider it a waste of money and time since any number below 1200 will not grind the coffee bean properly.
The capacity, which is mostly why many buyers go for the X8 model, is essential. Choosing the machine that will reduce not only the time of brewing but also eliminate the time of cleaning and maintenance is a very wise choice.
In this case, we will go with the X8 coffee machine with 170 ounces of water tank and 17.6 ounces of coffee bean. To be honest, the WE8 with 101 ounces of water reservoir and 17.6 ounces coffee hopper is not a bad choice at all. Its volume has exceeded many other model’s capacity. The reason for its defeat lies in its superior competitor – the X8
Jura X8 vs WE8 has 21 and 12 specialties, respectively. As you can see, the number of programmable drink options of WE8 is much lesser. However, this factor does not greatly affect buyers’ decisions since each person has different purposes.
If you’re seeking a machine for office use, the WE8 will be a better suit. It’s much more affordable, and some of the presets in the X8 are unnecessary for office workers.
Instead, you should focus on the customizable options that allow users to adjust coffee, milk, and water level based on their personal preferences. Luckily, both machines are compatible with this function.
Another essential feature is the number of Thermoblock heating where the X8 is equipped with a dual system. Users don’t need to waste time waiting for a machine to alternatively steam and brew since it can now do the job simultaneously.
Unfortunately, the WE8 has only one Thermoblock. This factor sums up my final decision to find the winner for the battle – the Jura X8.
Quick Rundown of Jura X8
- Large capacities in water tank, coffee hopper, drip tray
- Dual thermoblock heating
- Not suitable for small kitchen
- No height-adjustment milk frother
Quick Rundown of Jura WE8
- Large water tank capacity
- Suitable for office use
- Reasonable price
- Only one Thermoblock heating system
In the end, Jura X8 is still able to remain its crown. After reading the review article between Jura X8 vs WE8, I hope you can now understand what factors you need from a machine.
Whether it’s a large capacity, many programmable specialties, or the duration of brewing a cup of coffee, both models will not disappoint you. As for me, I will stick to the X8 for its versatility and a hassle-free cleaning process.
