We’ve come back to the reviewed article of the Jura Z8 model. This time, we compare Jura Z8 vs E8, the two best sellers of the Swiss brand.
If you have read other articles of mine, you might notice how a fan I am of the Z8 coffee machine. And I will have to repeat the result today by giving the winner title to Jura Z8 for its large capacity, a wide library of drink options, and two thermoblock heating.

Differences Between Jura Z8 vs E8
Design & Convenience
When it comes to design, the E8 holds a very standard and basic construction that most Jura coffee machines have. At first glance, you will spot the dual coffee spouts placed in the front panel, which is below the screen display.
Unlike its competitor who has 4.3 inches touch screen, the E8 is compatible with color screen and control buttons only. This can be both a drawback or a benefit for different types of users. Even the non-adjustable milk frother that stimulates better texture for the milk-based drinks is also a factor that needs to reconsider.
Some users might prefer the button control panel since the fingerprints on the touchscreen panel will be a minus point from the aesthetic aspect. And for the separated milk frother, some might want to have it built-in with the coffee spouts to eliminate cup movement.
However, we can determine the winner by estimating the sizes and weights of both products. And I have to admit the Jura E8 is more compact and lighter. The machine offers 11 x 13.8 x 17.3 inches and 21.6 pounds, while its competitor is 12.6 x 14.8 x 18 inches and 29.5 pounds.
Even though I prefer the design of Z8, many users suggest that the dimensions and weight of a machine determine a machine more than the outer appearance.
Therefore, the winner for this round is the Jura Z8.
Wattages and Capacity
The wattages of a coffee machine determine the number and the speed of brewing one cup of coffee (in our case will be two cups since they are double-spouts machines). For example, a 1450-wattages engine can be estimated to produce 7-8 cups of coffee in 10 minutes.
I understand that many people wouldn’t prefer a high wattage machine since it consumes lots of energy and electricity bills. But worry not; the Z8 is compatible with the Zero-Switch mode or the Save Energy mode that will automatically cut off electricity when the machine is left unused for about 10 minutes.
As for the capacity, the Jura Z8 also holds a larger water tank. While E8 can store up to 64 ounces of water, its counterpart’s water reservoir capacity is 1.3 times bigger.
It’s not only large, but it’s also beneficial for cleaning and maintenance. Thus, my choice for this round is the Jura Z8.
Additional Features
The reasons why I choose Jura Z8 as the winner for this round are based on two factors.
The number of presets is the first element I would like to discuss. In case you don’t know, the number of Jura Z8’s specialties is 21, while the E8 has only 16 options.
Now, both machines are equipped with amazing technology that allows them to automatically brew different drink options. However, the more, the better. Jura Z8 surely satisfies more buyers for its wider range of drink choices.
The second factor is the number of thermoblock heating systems, which determine the speed of brewing a cup of coffee. If a machine owns this system, it can steam and brew coffee simultaneously, saving quite a considerable amount of time.
Meanwhile, if it has only one system like the Jura E8, the waiting time for a cup of coffee will be longer.

Jura Z8 vs E8 coffee machines are the two gadgets that have distinguished charms. While the Jura Z8 attracts users for its versatility, large capacities, and speed, the Jura E8 makes a better impression on me for its compact footprint and button-control panel.
