Differences Between Levoit LV-Pur131 vs Coway AP-1512HH

Design

Appearance is the first factor that determines users’ choices. Among these two air purifiers, Coway AP-1512HH really stands out of the crowd for its mini speaker’s look-alike. It has a unique shape with 16.8 x 18.3 x 9.6 inches and two color options.

This machine is best rated for its luxurious and modern look that will look excellent in the living room, kitchen, bedroom, or even the bathroom! It slightly tips the scale of 12.3 pounds, which is only 0.81 pounds more than its competitor. Due to its flat shape and front-to-top air supply system, the purifier fits wonderfully in small places.

The Levoit LV-Pur131 air purifier with basic design offers a smaller dimension with a near-top float panel. The machine has a slim look and can fit in any corner of your house, but I would prefer the more-to-square-shaped Coway machine.

Even though both are made of plastic, the Coway looks much more luxurious with a circle silver lining in the front design. Furthermore, the intake air vents of Coway are more opened than the Levoit’s, which also makes up my decision in giving a point for Coway’s device.

In this round, the AP-1512HH surely wins.

Coverage

Both devices are designed for small to medium-sized rooms. They work fastest and most efficiently when cleaning the air in such a room of 360 square feet. However, the Coway AP-1512HH seems to take advantage when its minimum cleaning area can be up to 493 square feet.

My performance tests say that Coway’s cleaning rate is faster at cleaning than its counterpart. It can clean 322 square feet of room in 40 minutes. The Levoit machine, on the other hand, reaches the same cleaning size after 53 minutes. You can pretty much understand how proficient a Coway’s cleaning rate per minute is!

No doubt, the Coway deserves a point!

Filter

What is the foremost important factor when considering an air purifier? Filters! That is! The Coway air purifier has a winning point for an extra excellent feature of the Vital Ion system

This filtration is the last step at clearing the particles in the air that earlier filters failed to do. Basically, it’s more of a bipolar device that can generate an electrochemical reaction to eliminate tiny dust that remains in your atmosphere.

Coway contains 4 layers of fantastic filter, while Levoit LV-Pur131 filters only have 3. Apart from the Viral Ion step of Coway, they both have a pre – filter that acts as a barrier for large dust particles and pet hair; a deodorizer with activated carbon removes the unusual odors; and a Green True HEPA that eliminates fine dust, mold, and cigarette fumes.

What will you choose? I will definitely go for a machine with more layers of filter.

Noise

When it comes to noise, the Coway AP-1512HHH air purifier is quite disappointing. Even though it claims to produce a range of noise from 22-51 decibels, many users witness a loud running sound when they put it in the maximum engine speed.

On the other hand, the Levoit surprises all of us with a minimal noise of 27 but runs perfectly silent at night. The machine really turns the table by giving users a peaceful and smooth cleaning even at the optimal speed.

Therefore, the Levoit LV-Pur131 is my favorite engine in this round.

How To Use

As for Coway, you have 5 buttons to control the machine and one LED air quality monitor to observe your current air quality. Start turning on the machine by pushing the first button, then adjust the fan speed from 1-3 by pressing the next button. The Eco mode will be switched if there is no indoor air pollution.

If you feel like cleaning your air only for about an hour after cooking, press the timer button and filter reset indicator until the green light on both buttons light on the symbol “1hr” and “odor” function.

The same is with the Levoit air purifier. However, it has an additional sleep mode that will allow the fan to reduce its noise more efficiently.
