Roborock S6 Vs S6 Pure: Which Is Better?
Design
All Roborock robot vacuum cleaners come with a similar minimal design, which consists of a round frame, a main brush between the wheels, as well as a single side brush. From the top, the bots look incredibly elegant without superficial features. A key difference is that the S6 model does not have a silver ring around its body.
Not only the design but also the dimensions are identical between the Roborock S6 Pure Vs S6. They both have a dimension of 3.8 x 13.7 x 13.8 inches with a weight of 7 lbs.
Power
With 2000Pa of suction, you can expect an excellent cleaning performance from both S6 and S6 Pure robots. Coupled with the dense brush, these two vacuum cleaners can suck up virtually all dust and dirt accumulated in the carpet fibers.
The S6 and S6 Pure work more effectively in cleaning medium-pile and low-pile carpeting, but the medium-pile should be tight-woven. Of course, they cannot provide a deep clean as high-end cleaners do, but they do the job.
Filtration System
Roborock equipped these two robot vacuum cleaners with an E11-rated filter for effective cleaning. The filter makes sure that 95 percent of allergens and pollutants are captured, leaving your house with clean and healthy air. Another great thing is that this type of filter is washable.
Battery
The Roborock S6 boasts an epic battery, which can run up to 180 minutes to clean your house thoroughly. It takes 300 minutes to be fully charged. Meanwhile, the S6 Pure robot runs on the same 5200mAh Lithium-Ion battery, but its runtime is limited to 150 minutes. Like the S6, a full charge takes 300 minutes or 5 hours to complete.
Like most smart robot vacuums nowadays, the Roborock S6 Vs S6 Pure will return to dock to recharge when they sense that the battery is running low. Once charged enough to finish the cleaning cycle, the two cleaners will go back to work. It means you do not need to wait as much as 5 hours for your house to be cleaned thoroughly. This is thanks to a combination of recharge and resume feature and smart top-up function, if you may not know.
Dustbin Volume
The S6 definitely wins with a slightly larger dustbin that can hold up to 480mL. On the other hand, the S6 Pure robot vacuum cleaner is designed with a 460mL dustbin. But the Pure model turns the table when it comes to water tank capacity. To be specific, it boasts a 180ml water tank, 40ml more than the rated capacity of the S6 tank.
Noise
Where volume is concerned, the S6 Pure robot vacuum cleaner is the one winning the game. But in fact, the difference is not so significant, if not negligible. To be specific, in balanced mode, the S6 produces a 67dB noise, as opposed to 69dB from the Pure version.
Navigation
The S6 uses 14 sensors to map and maneuver around your house smoothly without bumping into obstacles. After mapping the whole house, the smart bot will learn and evaluate the fastest route for the most effective clean. More notably, you are able to create a cleaning schedule and set spot cleaning. To keep the machine from entering certain areas, you need to use magnetic tape, though.
The S6 Pure makes use of the same type of sensors, but it is equipped with 11 sensors only. This is to make room for the big water reservoir, as indicated in the water tank section. Fortunately, the mapping and navigating capabilities remain the same.
Additional Features and Accessories
Both options are compatible with the Roborock app, which offers many advanced features that you may be interested in.
For example, it allows you to save the maps of four different floors, and rest assured that the roots can detect the correct map automatically once it scans the room.
My favorite in-app feature is the invisible wall. Draw a virtual line on the app and it will block the robot from going this way. This works exactly like the magnetic tape, but more conveniently and effectively. Likewise, you can set up no-go zones to protect an area from your bots. Selective room cleaning and room editing are also available at your fingertips. Great!
A major drawback of this app is it works for one robot only. Still, you can run the robots from Xiaomi app. It provides much the same features.

The Bottom Line
Both Roborock S6 Vs S6 Pure are great robot vacuum cleaners that deserve at least 4.5 out of 5 stars. It is hard to pick a winner, but if there has to be one, it should be the Roborock S6 with a large dustbin and long runtime. Still, the S6 Pure is worth your attention if you want a large water tank.
