Comparison between Ninja BN801 vs SS351

Design

It’s no doubt that both machines offer an elegant power base, and clean digital display with proper buttons for one-touch control. But if you wish to combine your to-be blender with your other current appliance, without a doubt, the Ninja SS351 has a better-looking design.

First of all, let’s talk about how convenient and friendly it is to have the big knob control for speed settings. Even those who do not have any experience using a blender or food processor would find this machine easy to use.

And I know that food blender manufacturers have eliminated this kind of design and replaced it with touch-screen controls to cope with modern technology.

But for an old-schooler, this machine offers the best friendly design without sacrificing any outlook point. All of the buttons are flush with the panel surface and illuminate when activated.

As for the dimensions and weight, both gadgets show little differences when BN801 has a length of 7.38″, a width of 9.63″, and a height of 18″ and SS351 has 8.19”, 8.43”, and 14.17”, respectively. Their mass also varies from 8-10 pounds, depending on the type of jar and blade in use.

The BN801 is also not a model to be looked down on in terms of construction. It places four primary blending speeds below the five preset programs as tiny buttons.

It also has a timer, which is positioned in the control panel’s top middle. This function informs users how much time they have left in each mode.

But since all of the B801 features are in the SS351, and the SS model generates a more friendly and sleek aroma, I will go for SS351 in this round.

Wattages and Capacity

Now, lots of you might be confused about the wattages of both machines. Some sources imply they have 1,400 watts, and some claim that they only provide 1,200 watts. So what is the right answer here?

They both have a 1,200-watt motor base, but they can also reach their peaks at 1,400 watts. The stronger engine allows the machine to cut through tougher and more fibrous foods. That’s the reason why the watts motor of a blender determines its ability to chop through harder ingredients.

Personal-sized blending pitchers are included in both machines; however, they are not the same size. With BN801, you will find one full-sized pitcher of 72 oz and two single-serving 24-oz cups.

As for the SS351 model, it gives you more options. Apart from the 72 and 24-oz containers, the gadget gives one smaller bowl size of 14 oz. That should be enough to make a decent-sized smoothie.

And due to this factor, I prefer the SS351 over the BN801 for its versatile capacity.

Cleanup and Noise

Regarding noise and cleaning & maintenance, the BN801 has taken a point for its quieter operation of 50-85 decibels. Though this noise level is nothing related to the silent motor base, it’s still much better than the SS351’s 95+ decibels.

The last time when I conducted a noise test of Ninja BN801 vs BN770, I experienced a 95-decibel result in BN801, but only at the maximal speed. However, when comparing the Ninja SS351 vs BN801 this time, the SS351 for sure operates much louder than its competitor.

The loud operation might be a disadvantage for the SS model since nobody would like to start their fresh day with the loud sound of the motor engine from their blender.

Both blenders’ cleaning and maintenance processes are quite hassle-free when all of their bowls and jars are dishwasher-safe. Simply disassemble all of the machines’ containers, lids, and blades and wait for the dishwasher to finish. What a simple cleaning procedure!

Conclusion

Between the two blenders/ food processors of Ninja BN801 vs SS351, I prefer the SS351 model. Not only because it has a design that pleases my eyes, but also because it has more Auto-iQ presets, more bowl sizes, and newer updates.

And since both machines have the same price tag, it will be a more profitable investment to buy the SS351 blender over BN801.
