Jura E8 Vs ENA Micro 90: Why Jura E8 Win Effortlessly?

Jura E8 Vs ENA Micro 90

Quick Answer: Jura E8 Vs ENA Micro 90

Which Is The Best Overall?

After considering many factors that set the two espresso makers apart, I find the Jura E8 the worthy winner in this competition.

Coming with a higher input capacity, an assortment of specialties, and some advanced features such as the Professional Grinder or TFT display, the machine is meant for a more enjoyable barista-style brewing experience.

These advantages are expected, especially when factoring in the price difference between the two machines. Yet, our runner-up seems to fall short in some regards, so if you want a more affordable option, I recommend looking at other Jura models (check out my  Jura E6 vs E8 comparison).

Differences Between Jura E8 Vs ENA Micro 90

Design And Convenience

The winner: Jura E8

When placed side to side, I was easily drawn by the E8’s stunning design. It comes with a black casing accented by two silver sidelines and two glossy chrome spouts. The overall design of this E8 resonates with the design language of the brand in later models.

Meanwhile, the Micro 90 sticks to a more minimalistic, all-silver design with a bulkier coffee spout. Both machines come with a small footprint, so you’ll encounter no trouble placing it on a standard countertop.

Design-wise, the reservoir of the Micro 90 is situated at the back of the machine, which might cause some inconvenience while refilling the water. Jura has moved the water tank of their later models, including the E8, to the side of the machines for easier access.

Another thing to tell the difference between Jura ENA Micro 90 vs E8 is the number of spouts available. The ENA-line machine is limited to only one cup per brew, whereas the E8 is equipped with two spouts that can brew the same drink at twice the speed or for double the amount.

Additionally, you will enjoy a wider range of specialties with the E8. It can brew up to 17 different types of coffee drinks, from cappuccino, espresso, and lungo to flat white. Meanwhile, the Micro 9 only offers 6 specialties.

You can easily set between 10 strength levels in both markers to suit your needs. However, the E8 can be adjusted to 3 different brewing temperatures, whereas its brother only allows for 2 customizable options. And there are 3 adjustable temperature levels for hot water in the E8, which is absent in the ENA Micro 9.

More customization will give you an easy time as a home barista and make high-quality coffee shots suitable for yourself.

Wattage And Capacity

The winner: Jura E8

The entry-level ENA Micro 90 features a small water tank (37 oz) and a smaller bean hopper (4.4 oz). Meanwhile, the E8 is meant for a higher input capacity and coffee consumption. Its water reservoir can hold 64.2 oz at a time, and the bean hopper is over twice the size of the Mirco 90’s.

Large input is usually better when it comes to coffee machines. There’s no need to refill water and beans very often for your daily coffee fix with the E8, making it a better option for high-usage settings.

Extra Features

The winner: Jura E8

As the higher-end model of the brand, it comes as no surprise to see the E8 come with a more advanced Professional Aroma Grinder. It can preserve 12.2% more aroma for the coffee and deliver excellent grinding results every time. Quality grinding helps the E8 get ahead of the game in terms of brew quality.

Both the espresso makers are easy to use with helpful and instructive display panels. While inexperienced users might find the TFT display of the E8 slightly hard to use at first, it becomes a joy to navigate once they get used to it. I find that the TFT always looks sleeker and can easily match the modern decor.

The plain display of the Micro 90 does not take any getting used to, which is a nice plus. Yet, since it’s placed on top of the machine instead of the facade, you’ll likely bend over to navigate the settings.
