Comparison between Ninja BL770 vs BL685
Design
To be honest, I’ve never liked the construction of Nutri Ninja BL770. It looks too classic and straightforward, which does not really suit most of the house style. However, it’s no denial that due to this traditional outlook, the BL770 Ninja blender gains more favor from elderly users. Even for a person who does not any knowledge of using blender can operate the machine at ease.
Let’s not talk about its dimensions and weight since I’ve mentioned about it tons of time in some of my previous articles. This time, I will point out my only favorite point of the BL770 gadget’s construction. What would it be?
My BL770 personal blender’s favorite design lies in the iconic metallic craving of the control panel’s front side: professional 1500 watts. Simple but adequate information to prove that this is one of the most powerful Ninja “blenders to food processors” in the market.
Other features are just the drop in the bucket.
On the flip side, Nutri Ninja Blender System with Auto-iQ BL685 does really attract my attention at first glance. It’s designed to be so luxurious and sturdy that even a person who does not care much about appearance like me would also want to own one. The construction of stainless steel plastic makes the control panel to stand out more than usual.
Besides, the size of this 9.88 pounds device does not differ much from its counterpart. It’s 7.13 inches length, 10.25 inches width and 17.75 inches height, suitable to be on top of any kitchen countertop and corner.
While the BL770 control panel consists of three-speed settings and a pulse function, the BL685 blender has no speed choices but only preset programs. These intelligent blending programs include mix, dough, puree, blend, and crush.
You won’t have to waste time doing the guesswork if the machine has already featured with the Auto-iQ technology. However, I believe it’s such a disadvantage to eliminate the speed adjusting buttons. Not all preset programs are enough to follow different recipes.
Still, I would recommend users to purchase BL684 if they think construction is the most important element of a blender.
Wattages and Noise
It seems like all good-looking machines have the same 1200-watt motor power. Nutri Ninja BL910, Bl642, etc. all gain high aesthetical value points regardless their identical wattages of 1200.
Don’t get me wrong. A 1200 motor base is undoubtedly a powerful blender! With this amount of watts, you can easily crush big ice cubes into snow, mix a large batch of cookie dough in 30 seconds, or chop down hard fruits and tough ingredients.
However, in comparison with 1500 watt motor power of BL770 (the iconic Nutri Ninja blender), a 1200 watt engine is less powerful. Good news is that low-powered appliance often generate less noise than high-powered gadget.
Even with the Total Crushing technology of BL685, the BL770 Nutri Ninja blender produce much louder sound. I know it’s hard to finalize the decision for this round; thus, I’ll provide you with some methods to cancel or reduce the level of noise.
Capacity
What should you do to switch a blender to a food processor? That’s right; by attaching food processor accessories into the machines. In this case, the installed items are 64 oz food processor bowl, a dough blade and a Pro extractor blades assembly.
Apart from the bowl, you can further get a 72-oz pitcher, an 18-oz and 24-z Nutri Ninja cups if purchasing model BL685 personal blender. As for the BL770, instead of two different size in single-serve cups, you will get two 16-oz jars with lids for the drinks on the go.
Regarding the quantity, both models offer the same amount of 4 plastic jars, that is applicable with large family or picnics. It’s better if you can determine the right blender’s capacity that fits your need without my help.

Conclusion
Choosing the winner between Ninja BL770 vs BL685 is, indeed, hard since both of them deserve the title winner. Sufficient capacity, robust two horsepower, and sturdy construction are all the elements that buyers seek from a blender (even from a food processor).
However, since the model BL685 blender is currently unavailable, it’s better to go for the other model – BL770 Mega Kitchen System blender.
